The Georgian National Communications Commission once more explains that in accordance with the Charter on National Numbering System of Electronic Communications Networks of Georgia confirmed by the Georgian Government’s Resolution N355 of November 18, 2010 changes were made to the numbering system in 2011. The numbering of fixed, fixed wireless and mobile networks has been changed. Eight-digit numbering of mobile network was added -5 as first digit and subscriber number became: 5XX XXXXXX. Numbering of fixed network was added -2 as first digit and subscriber number in Tbilisi became seven-digit: 2 XXXXXX, in regions subscriber numbers became six-digit: 2 XXXXX. Eight-digit numbering of fixed wireless network was added -7 as first digit and subscriber number now looks like: 7XX XXXXX.
Besides, special and emergency short format numbering changed in autumn of 2011. Numbering of emergency services are the following: Fire Department – 111 Patrol Police - 122 Ambulance – 113 Emergency Gas Service – 114 Security Police – 125
08 and 09 format short numbers became: 118 08 118 09
From now it is possible to connect to special and emergency services from mobile or fixed network without code. National prefix “8” has been changed. We should dial the national prefix “0” for making domestic long-distance calls and calls made from mobile to fixed network and vice versa, from fixed network to mobile network, and for making international calls we should dial international prefix “00”. There is a new rule of dialing the numbers of companies providing long-distance and international phone service. The codes of new 10XX format are, for instance:
8-07 shall be replaced by 10-07; 8-10 shall be replaced by 10-10; 8-11 - by 10-11; 8-16 - by 10-16; 8-18 - by 10-18 And so on.
In order to make a call it is necessary to dial first the code of the company providing long-distance and international phone service, international prefix “00”, then the code of the country, the code of the city and the number of a subscriber (if you make a call abroad ), for instance, 10XX00… If a call is made within Georgia it is necessary to dial the code of the operating company providing long-distance and international phone service, the code of the city and the number of a subscriber, or nine-digit number of a mobile subscriber, for instance: 10XX 0…

The new codes are: Tbilisi 32 (reserve 33) Rustavi 341 Akhalgori 342 Tskhinvali 344 Stepantsminda 345 Dusheti 346 Java 347 Tianeti 348 Akhmeta 349 Telavi 350 Sagarejo 351 Kvareli 352 Gurjaani 353 Lagodekhi 354 Signagi 355 Dedoplistskaro 356 Marneuli 357 Bolnisi 358 Tetritskaro 359 Dmanisi 360 Ninotsminda 361 Akhalkalaki 362 Tsalka 363 Aspindza 364 Akhaltsikhe 365 Adigeni 366 Borjomi 367 Khashuri 368 Kareli 369 Gori 370 Kaspi 371 Gardabani 372 Mtskheta 373 Tighvi 374 Mestia 410 Samtredia 411 Abasha 412 Senaki 413 Khobi 414 Zugdidi 415 Tsalenjikha 416 Chkhorotsku 417 Martvili 418 Chokhatauri 419 Batumi 422 Khulo 423 Shuakhevi 424 Keda 425 Kobuleti 426 Khelvachauri 427 Kutaisi 431 Vani 432 Kharagauli 433 Bagdati 434 Sachkhere 435 Tskaltubo 436 Lentekhi 437 Ambrolauri 439 Sukhumi 442 Gagra 443 Gudauta 444 Ochamchire 445 Tkvarcheli 446 Gali 447 Gulripshi 448 Tsageri 472 Oni 473 Chiatura 479 Terjola 491 Zestaponi 492 Poti 493 Lanchkhuti 494 Khoni 495 Ozurgeti 496 Tkibuli 497
